Energy security (of the European Union). A theoretical study

Summary/Abstract: Together with the development of European integration, the guarantee to ensure energy security of the European Communities has become increasingly important. It has become an important factor in the security policy implemented by member states and the European Union. An analysis of the evolution of the European Union energy policy and the current climate and energy package leads to the conclusion that the guarantee of energy security is a high priority for the short-term and longterm future. The article presents the nature of energy security based on the debate taking place in literature on the subject. Selected definitions.
