Summary/Abstract: The total number of daily migrants (workers, pupils and students) of Svilajnac, according to results of special statistical data processing of the population census in 2002, was 1181 workers,of which 1126 migrants comute to towns to work there, while 55 workers from Svilajnac travel towards other settlements in their surroundings, and 524 pupils and students (427 migrants towards towns and 97 pupils and students migrants from the town). The radius of their everyday travel define the space frame of the diurnal urban system of Svilajnac, which covers considerable area (parts of Veliko Pomoravlje, East Serbia, Sumsdija etc.), while the scale and space distribution of migrants define the intensity of functional connection and the degree of socio-economic tranformation of the city and its surroundings.
