Summary/Abstract: In recent years Turkey has been pursuing a proactive foreign policy in respect to its neighborhood and to the far flung regions of the Earth. This activism has led Turkey to support Turkish economic expansion to Africa, the Far East and Latin America and to the creation of new diplomatic missions. Turkey has also effectively participated in many UN and NATO operations. Consequently, the aim of Turkish foreign policy can be summarized as “zeroproblems with neighbors” and the active use of its soft power to contribute to world peace and security. Against this positive development a number of chronic disputes still remain unresolved as some other new problems have arisen.
