Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the work is to investigate the actual issues of creative relationships between opera and symphony conductors and stage directors in the opera and the peculiarities of their cooperation in the modern Ukrainian musical theatre. Methodology. The methodology of the research is to use analytical, functional, comparative and art research methods to determine the main functions of a director and conductor in the process of staging an opera performance, to clarify the significance of creative interaction between specialists of various types and genres of art in the process of staging an opera, and the importance of inculcation in future artists Skills of creative cooperation. These issues are considered in the context of the activities of the Opera Studio of the NMAU named after P.I. Tchaikovsky. Scientific Novelty. The scientific novelty of the research is to analyse the synthetic interaction and the relationship between the conductor and director roles in the interpretation process when staging an opera performance on the example of the Opera Studio of the NMAU. Tchaikovsky, which requires a deep theoretical analysis and experimental study of the most characteristic features and moment. It ultimately allow us to find the optimal combination of this cooperation for the realization of the work of both the director and the conductor in staging an opera performance. The research is based on the practical experience of specialists in the field of musical and theatrical art. Conclusions. Thus, it was established that in the process of working on the production of an opera performance, both directorial work and conducting for highly artistic and professional interpretation and embodiment of the theatrical concept of the work are equally important. This practical approach should dominate the work of the Opera Studio of the National Tchaikovsky Music Academy of Ukraine, in which students acquire their first experience during their studies.
