Summary/Abstract: The research is related to the consideration of the implementation of specifics of the Ukrainian national dance phenomenon in the genre of opera. The considerations of this problem stipulate reference to the creative activities of M. Lysenko, which is based on the national idea. The identification of principles of the dance genres in the context of opera has been researched by the example of the work of the mature period of the composer – the opera «Eneida». Methodology. The methodology of the research is comprehensive. The application of dialectical, systemic and structural approaches allows to analyse the dance episodes of the opera «Eneida» that clearly demonstrate the characteristic features of the Ukrainian national dance. Scientific Novelty. The scientific novelty of the work is to expand notions about influence of dance genres on the features of morphogenesis and typological properties of Opera dramaturgy. The analysis of different genres (Gopak, Kozachok, Vesnianka, Khorovod dances), that M. Lysenko applies in the Opera «Eneida», allows to justify the use of concepts «great dance form» and «suit dance form». Conclusions. The phenomenon of the Ukrainian national dance, which has extremely wide aesthetic possibilities, finds its expression in the opera «Eneida» at the sophisticated, high professional level. While creating expressive panorama of national dances, the composer shows masterful, advanced knowledge of morphogenesis means. In the composition of dance items M. Lysenko often uses mixed forms (non-traditional options of rondo form). The dance episodes have the features of freedom of presentation, contradictory comparisons, monointonationality and constant intonation variations through the whole dance item. M. Lysenko shows national wealth of Ukrainian dance genre varieties, provides the ability to understand distinctive attitude, expressed through the dance, as the embodiment of the national spirit.
