Summary/Abstract: Presented theoretical essay draws on perspectives of critical theory of media (J. Habermas, T. W. Adorno) and social philosophy (S. Žižek) with an emphasize on the ethical dimension of communicative action. The aim of the text is to address – through the prism of critical theory of argumentation (D. Walton) – selected rhetorical strategies of the contemporary Czech political discourse, which gains its persuasive power and common figures from the matrices of so called Ur-fascism (U. Eco).
