Summary/Abstract: The article submits the analysis of one of the leading Russian postmodern novels of the 20th century, the Pushkin House by Andrey Bitov. The Russian writer demonstrates the way the Soviet Union constructed its history, on the example of the Institute of the Russian Literature known as Pushkin House, hiding the relics from the life and work of Pushkin, the famous Russian poet. In his novel, Bitov showed the “musealization” of Russian culture and revealed its imperial character. However, Bitov’s book is a unique musem-novel as well.
