Summary/Abstract: The article, “Adam Mickiewicz and His Poetry”, has been supplemented with the English translations of three poems: “Farys”, the “Bakczysaraj” sonnet, and fragments of “Konrad Wallenrod” with soothsayer’s song (“Pieśń Waldejoty”). Reeve’s treatment, so far untranslated into Polish, has thus became an interesting testimony to the reading of Mickiewicz’s works and their reception by foreign readers. Although in many passages the article reveals the young writer’s lacking skills, vagueness in the formulation of opinions, and an excessive focus in the content of the work (exemplified by summarising the story), it is still a valuable source of additional knowledge about the reception of Mickiewicz’s works in European literary circles. Reeves translations are most likely based on French translation: “Konrad Wallenrod”, “Le Faris”, “Sonnets de Crimée” (Paris 1830).
