Summary/Abstract: Defining the term” deviant behavior” and the distinction from other types of diverted behavior is a challenging task. Despite the fact, that the result from disregarding social norms and requirements is similar, conducting preventive and correcting activity would be unthinkable without the right differentiation of the behavioral activity. Also, it is a great matter to distinct deviation as an act of social infringement, for the presence of such reactions in behavior could not necessarily qualify the person as deviant. A certain type of behavior is carrying much more information, determined by biological and psychosocial processes. The main goal of this article is the disclosure of the difference between deviations in behavior, which could be observed as part of the behavioral repertoire of the socially adequate person and deviance as a systematic, structural type of behavior.
