From the perspective of Norbert Elias: Stability and change of system of values in the era of late socialism

Summary/Abstract: The study of value systems of the second half of the 20th century in the Slovak countryside is connected with the scientific work of Adam Pranda. His publications concerning the problem of values represent the unilinear interpretation of development of society and culture. As an alternative perspective, the paper puts forward the interpretation of value systems stability and changes during the late communist era, based on the Norbert Elias civilization theory.
