Summary/Abstract: The establishment of the first Islamic reading-room (kiraethana) in Gračanica in 1903 drew as much of attention as the establishment of some other educational societies at the beginning of the 20th century. A demand for its establishment was signed by 50 well respected townsmen whose names will be listed. The Islamic reading-room had a great role in cultural, social and even political life of Bosniacs (Muslims) in Gračanica.
