Summary/Abstract: The article presents an interpretation of Ludwig‘s Wittgenstein‘s „Philosophical Investigations“. The aim is to explore procedures of Wittgenstein‘s language analysis and to propose an alternative to the concept of Wittgenstein‘ s philosophy of language. It is argued that Wittgenstein‘s philosophy could be understood not only as philosophy of language, but also as philosophy of imagination. On the basis of this insight such concepts of Wittgenstein‘s philosophy as language games and forms of life are defined and explained. Wittgenstein‘s critique of metaphysical worldviews and the concept of philosophy as therapy of language is examined. By arguing that such a critical orientation of the philosophical method is not sufficient, for it could be treated as metaphysical itself, the concept of a practical philosophy of imagination is formulated.
