Summary/Abstract: Why does one play – due to necessity, at will, or for other reasons – e.g. changing the environment? We shall explore whether the self-transformation of the subject in and through the game refers to his/her own existence, or this practice transforms the entire human nature? The answer to such questions will give us a comprehensive concept for the game as a pattern, choice of life strategy and defining the role of humans in space. According to J. Huizinga the existence of the game is not related to the degree of civilization’s development and to a particular worldview, so the gaming phenomenon in different cultures allows us to reveal all the possibilities and creative forces of humankind.
