Summary/Abstract: Things in the photos by Alvydas Lukys show on the one hand conversion of the present into the past, on the other hand things to restore the time into the present which is transformed into eternity by repetition. In his photos, Lukys tries to expose the consequences of difference and repetition and contemplates on them. Each photo represents virtual duality of object and its photo-image and makes it actual. This actualization of virtual duality and its comparison with the achievements of other photographers give duration to photo-objects and possibility of their transformation with the time being. The article promotes the ideathat photos by Lukys are meta-images which contemplates the conditions of their own generation and the problem of representation trough contrariety residing in them. The contrariety is treated by means of Gilles Deleuze’s concept of difference and repetition.
