Summary/Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is defined as a way of reasoning and acting upon the conclusions, with full reliance on logic, conducted by machines in the broadest sense. AI is classified 1) according to the fields of application, ranging from a smart phone, as an artificial meta-intelligence, via economy, communication, entertainment, culture, public administrations; and 2) at the level of intellectuality – first as a tool that performs strictly defined tasks, and secondly as a smart machine with the ability to learn. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is defined as a way of reasoning and acting upon the conclusions, with full reliance on logic, conducted by machines in the broadest sense. The author believes that the development of AI – in the field related to the individual – is likely to go towards creation of a kind of „digital personality’’, while at the level of facts about society, archaic official social statistics will be replaced with a comprehensive snapshot of the lives of individuals and collective entities. There is the other side of the coin. Beside the revolutionary achievements based on AI, there is an opposite trend – eroding of intellectuality: the addiction of a large number of applications that spend energy and time, and reduce the power of rational thought and perception. There are also social consequences of the use of AI. Replacing human labor AI contributes to the polarization of contemporary society between the rich and privileged professionals from one side and the plebs from the other side. In addition to the analytical and synthetic methods, empirical research, conducted by the author during his university and business career, was also applied.
