Summary/Abstract: Jonas Vabalas-Gudaitis (1881–1955), the originator of experimental psychology and pedagogy in Lithuania, is remembered not only on the occasions of his different anniversaries. He is also mentioned more and more often in the context of constructivist education theory and especially in the context of pedagogical (constructive) interaction. Although the above mentioned educational constructs cannot be interrelated directly, this justifies the significant contribution of this scholar to the history of the Lithuanian pedagogical mind. With the ongoing purification and search for the links of philosophical and methodological systems of positivism, post positivism, structuralism and post structuralism, modernism and postmodernism that developed in the 20th century, the studies of Vabalas-Gudaitis acquire new aspects and perspectives. One of its reasons is the rapid spread of the science of synergetics (paradigm). The ideas of synergetics and synergasia, as named by Vabalas-Gudaitis, are related by the universal dimension of interaction and its interpretations. The category of interaction, which plays a significant role in natural sciences and is rapidly reduced to social phenomena, in humanistics tends to emerge through the phenomenon of the relation – between state. In this view, education takes place in the synergetic space of material-energetic and information-communicational (self) involvement and spread. The article covers the philosophical and pedagogical aspects of the category of interaction, once named as synergasia by Vabalas-Gudaitis, in the relation to the ideas of the science of synergetics and the perspective of a pedagogy based on relation.
