Summary/Abstract: In the light of severe economic crisis, the governments of many countries resort to the different reform categories in order to contribute to the national economy recovery. On the road to the economic revival, the first step of the states mostly refers to the public sector reform. Within this framework, the reform of the public procurement system appears as an inevitable destination. In this article, the author deals with the system of public procurement in the Republic of Ireland, where, along with a brief historical review of the Irish public procurement system, the attention is paid to the current institutional and legal framework of public procurement, and future changes likewise. Within this, the author focuses on the question of future reforms and the recommended model of centralization of the Irish public procurement system.
