Boshnakov’s approach to asymmetry – proposal of estimation of sample asymmetry measures

Summary/Abstract: In the paper, a specific approach to measuring the asymmetry of distribution is presented. The approach was originally proposed by Boshnakov in 2007 and refers to quite intuitive ideas involving a mode of underlying distribution. Consequently, two notions: asymmetry curve, and asymmetry index are introduced. The authors propose an algorithm that serves to estimate mentioned measures, and they verify its accuracy by simulation research.
