Summary/Abstract: Adolescence and Trauma. The Mother - Daughter Relationship in Hva er det med mor, of Vigdis Hjorth. The figure of the mother was a subject of debate in Norwegian literature especially beginning with the 1970s. Although at first the authors insisted upon the role of women in a society in full economic, social and political development, today the emphasis relies on the transparency of family relations. Our intention is to analyze the intergenerational relations that appear in the novel of Vigdis Hjorth, What is happening with mother [Hva er det med mor] and to see to what extent the figure of the mother influences the fate and the moral and psychosomatic development of her girl.
