Categorization of Marinas and as a Possibility of Gaining a Competitive Advantage

Summary/Abstract: Categorization of marinas is becoming increasingly popular worldwide phenomenon.This is due to the fact that increasing competition forces marinas to gain a competitive advantagestrengthening their positive image and supporting sales. The article analyzes the twomost popular categorization systems of marinas on an international scale: The Gold AnchorAward Scheme and Blue Star Marina Certification System. The comparison included i.e.their coverage, functional areas of the marinas evaluated during the certification audits andthe promotional support of having both certificates.
