Summary/Abstract: How political are the humanities in Poland today? Kuziak examines the possibilities and limitations of this question in the discourse of humanities scholars. He focuses on the formula ‘reading Poland’ that reappears in these discourses, but also on projects of possible otherness and rescue history. The humanities’ political nature is shown to legitimize scholarly discourses in that it connects them to history and society.
