Summary/Abstract: The introduction of new techniques, the application of new methods and intensified work in hospitals and other health institutions (in further text called “health institutions”) in the period 1965—1969 called for new, more trained personnel. During this period the number of health workers increased and the vocational composition of the staff employed in health institutions changed, with the number of medical staff growing and of those without medical training declining.
