Summary/Abstract: One of the principal targets of the Economic Reform was to overcome the lagging growth of agriculture and its negative effect on the country’s economic stability and balance of payments, and to enable this sector of the economy to operate profitably under the influence of objective economic laws. The measures of the Economic Reform taken to achieve these goals were primarily designed to enforce the newly-established price parities, and to enable agricultural organizations to increase capital formation and raise the personal incomes of their staff. In keeping with the basic principles and goals of the Reform, special measures were taken to ensure agriculture the same conditions of operation as those prevailing in other sectors of the economy.
