Summary/Abstract: The fast growth of tourism in Yugoslavia, especially foreign, recorded in recent years has been accompanied by a rapid rise in the number of visitors coming by car. Most foreign tourists travel by car and so do increasing numbers of Yugoslavs. Out of the total number of foreign tourists registered in Yugoslavia in 1966 and 1967, about 94 per cent came by car. Rail, air and sea travel accounted for only 6 per cent (in 1965 these figures were 87 and 13 per cent). In the same years the corresponding figure for Austria was 84 per cent, Italy 75 per cent, Spain 68 per cent, Turkey 43 per cent, Greece 19 per cent, etc.
