Summary/Abstract: 1: President of the Republic Josip Broz Tito broadcast his New Year message to the peoples of Yugoslavia. 4: The Plenum of the Federation of Yugoslav Trade Unions adopted a decision concerning reorganization whereby, among other things, the number of trade unions was reduced from 14 to 6. The new unions cover the following sectors: industry and mines; service undertakings; public services; building and construction materials industries; farming, food an tobacco manufacture; and transport and communications.
