Summary/Abstract: The Federation of Associations of Ex-Servicemen of the People’s Liberation War of Yugoslavia (SUBNORJ) is a socio-political organization which came into being through the merger of three separate ex-Service organizations. The merger was carried into effect at the Congress of SUBNORJ held in Belgrade from June 29 to July 1, 1961. Shortly before the congress, the Federation of Ex-Servicemen of the People’s Liberation War of Yugoslavia, the Federation of Disabled Ex-Servicemen of Yugoslavia and the Association of Reserve Officers and Non-commissioned Officers of Yugoslavia, held their separate congresses at which the decision to merge the three organizations was made. The Statute adopted at the congress of SUBNORJ provides for separate associations on the communal level and for joint bodies of the Federation from district up to federal level, which co-ordinate their work and the activity of their members. The separate associations on the communal level are: Associations of Ex-Servicemen of the People’s Liberation War, Associations of Disabled Ex-Servicemen, and Associations of Reserve Officers and Non-commissioned Officers.
