Risk assessment of operation of land-based wind power plants in Poland for their insurance from some random events

Summary/Abstract: An important element of energy development in Poland from renewable sources are wind turbines.In the article we focus attention on land-based wind power plants. We introduce the basic conceptsof the wind power industry and the scale of electricity production using wind turbines. Next, we make theoverall characteristics of the wind power, its advantages, possibilities of application. In the final part weanalyze the insurance aspects; extent of liability, the sum and the premium of insurance and general insuranceconditions.
