Summary/Abstract: OK, we all know that the grass is always greener on the other side, but still: the Croatian prose was blooming over the last decade and what is most interesting – it seems the tsunami is not letting up. Naturally, FAK did speed things along, the Serbian prose desperately lacking such a boost, as even the most shallow “experts” would admit. However, two important facts should be mentioned here: 1. FAK is not much of a cause as the consequence: it was the materialization of the creative energy that had already been there, benefiting the “scene”; 2. the story of FAK faded a long time ago and the production is still lively and diverse, with valuable works by (post)FAK members, those who poetically – if we agree, extremely conditionally, there is such a thing as the “FAK poetics” – stand on totally different positions, or somewhere along the margins, tending their own gardens.
