Summary/Abstract: Modern Lithuania has been a Christian country for more than 600 years. Most Lithuanian people profess the Catholic faith. The Catholic Liturgy comprises the Holy Mass and additional worships. Added worships consist of folk devotional practices, or prayers and religious songs. These do not occur which during the Mass and are in the local language. In Lithuania they are the Hours of St. Mary the Virgin, Mourning hours, the Devotional practice of the Blessed Virgin Mary during the month of May, the Devotional practice of the Blessed Heart of Jesus during the month of June, the day for commemorating, rosary to the St. Virgin Mary and St. Jesus, the Calvary Cross Way, the Way of the Cross of 14 stations, the Mournful Whining, and funeral songs. One of the Catholic Devotional practices are litanies.
