Summary/Abstract: The private appeal in criminal cases was regulated for the first time in the Criminal Procedure Law, then – in the Code of Criminal Procedure (1952), in the Code of Criminal Procedure (1974) and in the current Code of Criminal Procedure and has the following characteristics: the subject of the appeal is the court ruling on current issues; the first court may itself set aside the ruling and the enforcement and the case proceedings are not suspended; the second court always decides the appeal issue.
