Summary/Abstract: Combatting the grey market on Internet requires cooperation of various agencies, institutions and organisations. The dynamics of development taking place on the net, trans-border nature of Internet and an enormous number of transactions occurring in the virtual space create a large area for abuse connected with infringement of intellectual property and achievement this way of unregistered incomes. In his article, the author characterises the ways of reducing the grey market on Internet and reviews the initiatives and ventures related to monitoring the net from the point of view of capturing the transactions entailing copyright infringement. He points out that repressive measures and new legal regulations are not sufficient to reduce unregistered business activities on Internet. There is the need to look after new business models matching the interests of large corporations with the needs and expectations of net users.
