Summary/Abstract: Musical manuscripts, especially those that use “psaltic notation” as we call it, are genuine sources of data in the field of musical paleography of Byzantine tradition. But, in the same time, they are real research instruments offering the investigators unsuspected possibilities in the formulation of some hypothesis that are hard to anticipate, but which have the value of a theorem after being accepted by the specialists.
