Summary/Abstract: The historical town Şabran, situated in the north-east of Azerbaijan, was founded first time by the Sabir Turks. Its name also descends from them. Şabran was a brilliant cultural centre during the Middle Ages. However, the Mongolic invasions and inter-Mongolic strife gave an end to its magnificent days. The city was completely ruined at the beginning of the 18th century.
