Summary/Abstract: My paper approaches Carl Gustav Jung’s psychoanalytical perspective on the phenomenon of dreaming and on dream’s interpretation. Preparing the theoretical context, we will first identify the main criteria to distinguish between sign and symbol, as well as the limits of other approaches of the topic. My goal is to discover the most fruitful perspective on studying the dream, in order to highlight more elements belonging to human unconscious, as this enterprise could help us know ourselves better as human beings. Afterwards, we will present some considerations about the cultural correspondences that the interpretation of this phenomenon of dreaming could help us make. The method involved here regards some elements of semiotics and hermeneutics, to the extent of a useful distinction between sign and symbol as instruments of comprehension.
