Summary/Abstract: Montenegro, the only republik of ex-Yugoslavia loyal to Belgrade, started pursuit of independence, getting sharper from 1997 on. Some structural problems were pretext for Montenegro in search for independence, and some other structural and conjunctural reasons prevented it. Milosevic was to be the main figure provocating Montenegro, but his fail did not give end to the tension. This article tells about the developments at the end of 1999 and beginning of 2000, when Milosevic regime collapsed.
