Summary/Abstract: Middle management together with top management plays an important role in some of strategic decision-making phases. The purpose of the research is to test the theoretical model typology of four strategic roles by middle management in enterprises underdeveloped markets such as the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The aim is to explore the perceptions and knowledge of top and middle managers and their roles in the strategic decision making. To test the empirical model, examined 135 middle and top managers in 30 medium-sized enterprises in the Federation of Bosnia and Hercegovina. In order to test the stated hypothesis, we used correlation and linear regression as statictical methods. The study showed that middle and top managers do not have the same perception of the role of middle management in the strategic decision making. The analysis found that the perception of middle and top managers and role of middle management in the strategic decision making almost completely wrong.
