Use of the Structural Funds and Stimulating Innovativeness in the Regional Approach

Summary/Abstract: An aim of considerations is to survey how allocation of means from the EU funds in the 2007-2013 financial perspective affects fulfilment of the objectives related to raising the degree of innovativeness in the regional approach, i.e. in individual provinces. The analysis covers the selected indices and data related to implementation of the Innovative Economy Operational Programme (IE OP). As it shows, albeit the level of use of allocation of means for the years 2007-2013 is very high, nevertheless the state of innovativeness of regions may be gradually improved in quite a foreseeable extent, i.e. in the highest degree it concerns the best developed regions, with strong urban centres and active entrepreneurs. The least developed and the least innovative regions make use of allocation on IE OP in the definitely least degree.
