Summary/Abstract: The size and fairness of gaps in employee remuneration are difficult to prove because of the uniqueness of the determinants of employee remuneration in different organizations. The purpose of the research on which this article is based was to review the distribution of employee remuneration across categories of job function and gender in South African small to medium-sized organizations. A purposive sampling method was used and categorical multiple regression analysis was performed. The overall findings of the research suggest that significant distribution of employee remuneration across categories of job function and gender exist in large organizations compared to smaller organizations.
