Summary/Abstract: The benefits of collaboration between scientist and entrepreneurs for developing innovationsare crucial at many universities. Scouting of knowledge is the fundamental toolfor identification and analysis of the scientific research results in the context of their commercialpotential. The article shows scouting as a tool used by university for developingopen dialogue and sustainable relation between universities and business partners. Scoutingis a process which is focused on systemic identification, monitoring and evaluation of researchresults in terms of their commercial potential on the one hand. On the other hand,scouting is a process aiming at searching for potential business partners for scientific teamsin order to develop common innovation projects. Knowledge scouting it therefore a processimportant for both demand and supply of scientific research with commercial potential.
