Summary/Abstract: Authors of this article analyse the problem 'of closed /e/ ("e"), the famous 9th vocale, much discussed among turkologists, and tries to show state of this vocale in Anatolian dialects. Results of the survey on Anatolian dialects indicated hundreds of words with the vocale "e", and their indices were prepared in terms of regions. Results of this detailed survey pointed to some facts on regional connections among the current Anatolian dialects, and historical relationships with the Old Anatolian Turkish.
