Summary/Abstract: This essay is about life of Prof. Omeljan Pritsak, preeminent Türkolog and researcher of Ukrainian history. His area of study can be classified in two phases: Pritsak, who made very important studies in Turkology by 1964, then tended to Ukrainian studies and established the Center of Ukrainian Studies at the Harvard University. Though he focused on Ukraine affairs in his works from then on, he did not give up Turkish studies at all. This article tells about also some important works of Pritsak, who passed in 2006.
