Family as a Foundation of the National Identity Formation

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to introduce a category of identity, including a national identity which is formed in the first instance in the most important institution – a family.An attitude of the researchers who investigate the structure of identity, and those who search for an answer to the question: “Who are we?” has become crucial to a cognition in social sciences. Identity is an existential problem therefore it is relevant to introduce the value of a family affected by a socio-cultural transition in shaping the national identity.
