The Role of Social Capital in Digital Economy – New Trends

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to identify sources and nature of social capital in digitaleconomy in the light of recent developments. At the beginning the concepts of digitaleconomy and social capital are defined. Then, on the basis of literature we classify keyissues which currently appear to have the most significant impact on the development ofdigital economy. Three of these developments are discussed in more detail and theirimplications for social capital are indicated.
