Summary/Abstract: An aim of the study is to assess the final document being a result of the analysis carried out to the order of the Municipal Council in Koszalin and concerning city’s tourist attractiveness. This is also an attempt to present the reasons of lack of report’s effectiveness. For preparation of the publication, there was used one of qualitative research methods which is a case study. A detailed assessment comprised the report on carried out surveys from the point of view of its contents but also innovativeness, practicality, data quality, analysis quality and the study structure. Unfortunately, the document is assessed as useless; there were observed in it too many faults and drawbacks. It contains information useless in practice and it does not add any new knowledge that might serve preparation of the programme of tourism development for the city. Responsibility for preparation of useless analyses is both on the contracting party and that carrying out research.
