Summary/Abstract: It has been used by big states in the history to build railways political, economic, military and social spheres of influence. In the last days of the Ottoman State these states competed with each other for railway construction. The Chester Project is a project developed by the United States in order to benefit from the railway concessions known to other states in the Ottoman Empire. In this study, the Chester Project which was negotiated between Turkey and the United States just before the Lausanne Peace Treaty, the effect in the Turkish press was tried to be explained by giving examples from the foreign press.
