The Role of Perpetual Usufruct in Managing The Real Estate of the City of Krakow

Summary/Abstract: This study aims to analyze the role of perpetual usufruct in the management of the realestate belonging to the City of Krakow. The research thesis of this article is the statementthat perpetual usufruct is an important source of income of the Municipality, although thecurrently preferred method of real estate disposal is sale of ownership rights.The research study covered the management process of the real estate of theMunicipality of Krakow in the years 2012–2015, especially in the context of establishingperpetual usufruct and the income generated the refrom. The forms of disposal of the realproperties applied by the Municipality, as well as their mutual relationships, were analyzed.Part of the study area was devoted to the income (other than annual fees) of the Municipality,associated with perpetual usufruct. The structure of land belonging to the city of Krakowwas also examined, with particular emphasis on the land remaining in perpetual usufruct.
