Summary/Abstract: An aim of considerations is to present the young consumers’ attitudes towards activities carried out by volunteering and non-profit organisations against the background of the data related to other countries of the European Union. This issue was illustrated with findings of own surveys concerning young people’s involvement in activities of volunteering and non-profit organisations as well as of earlier surveys of adult Poles’ attitudes towards volunteering. The authors stated that young consumers were highly involved in activities carried out by non-profit organisations as well as in other forms of supporting people who need assistance. The desire to gain new experience, to get acquainted with new people and to usefully exploit leisure is the main motivators of young volunteers’ involvement. Owing to the carried out surveys one may assess the behaviours and motivations of young consumers who undertake activities for NGOs. The article can also be a starting point to discussion how much the social campaigns promoting non-profit organisations and volunteering as well as the social acceptance of the phenomenon are conducive to the growth of interest in such activities. The article is of the research nature.
