Summary/Abstract: An aim of the survey was diagnosis of the readiness of consumers to buy products with a modified composition, on the example of products with reduced contents of fat and salt as well as the factors determining it. The survey was carried out in 2011 on the nation-wide group of 1000 adult Poles. There was exhibited a relatively low willingness to buy products with the modified composition. The respondents informed of rather low benefits but also of the threats on the side of those products. Of a greater importance in formulating declarations on the intent to consume were opinions on benefits than threats. The socio-demographic traits and attitude towards health values differed respondents’ opinions on threats and benefits as well as on the intent to consume the products in question. The article is of the research nature.
