Summary/Abstract: Digitization project at the University Library began in 2008. According to project digitization begins with manuscripts and printed books that are under the Law on Cultural Assets categorized as old and rare books of great importance. Digitized material is fully accessible on the website of the Library under the section Digital Library and is divided into several parts, which are: manuscripts, books, newspapers and the first repository. There are further divisions according to the theme. University Library "Svetozar Marković" in the field of digitization so far acquired, in our context, representative experience which is crowned by digitizing old Serbian newspaper within the Europeana Newspapers project.
