Summary/Abstract: The text focuses on Robert Kroetsch’s long poem The Hornbooks of Rita K dealing with the fragmental structure of the poem, the role of the poet and the function of the poem. By using Kroetsch’s game theory based on the free combination and play with many poetical fragments, the author of the text points to an active and creative role of the reader in giving the final meaning to the poem.
